What is Systemic Counseling?

Systemic Counseling: Empowering You to Create Change

As a systemic counselor, I believe you are the expert of your own life. My approach is grounded in empathy, respect, and the belief that everyone holds the capacity for growth and change. Together, we explore your unique story, uncover your strengths, and develop strategies that feel right for you.

Using effective tools like circular questioning, the miracle question, reframing, and genogram work, we gain new perspectives and make lasting change possible. I focus on your personal goals and relationships, offering a safe space to navigate transitions, resolve challenges, and move forward with clarity.

Let’s uncover new perspectives — together.

FAQ

What does “systemic” mean in this context?

Being systemic means seeing you not just as an individual, but as part of a larger network of relationships and influences. We explore how patterns and dynamics in your personal and professional life shape your experience — and how you can navigate and reshape them in a way that supports your growth and well-being.

What is art therapy?

Art therapy uses creative processes to explore inner experiences, express emotions, and develop new perspectives. It’s not about artistic skill, but about personal reflection and self-awareness.

In my practice, I don’t offer traditional art therapy sessions. Instead, I draw from my training and experience in art therapy to integrate creative elements into the counseling process. These impulses can support intuitive insight, offer fresh perspectives, and open up new paths toward personal growth and change.

How is systemic counseling different from traditional therapy?

Systemic counseling is not psychotherapy and does not involve making medical diagnoses. It is designed for people who want to explore personal, professional, or relational issues without requiring medical treatment.

How many sessions make sense?

That really depends on your individual situation. Sometimes one single session is enough to gain a fresh impulse, while in other cases, several sessions can be helpful. You decide how long you’d like to engage in the process — at your own pace and according to your needs.

What happens during the introductory session?

In this 20–30 minute meeting, we get to know each other, talk about your goals, and see if my approach feels like a good fit for you.

How often do sessions take place?

The frequency depends on your needs and goals. Weekly, biweekly, or more flexible intervals—together we'll find the rhythm that suits you best.

Is everything we discuss confidential?

Yes, confidentiality is essential. Everything we discuss stays between us. As a systemic counselor, I am bound by confidentiality and do not share information with third parties.

What happens if I need to cancel an appointment?

If you are unable to attend an appointment, please let me know as soon as possible. Cancellations made up to 24 hours before the appointment are free of charge. For last-minute cancellations or no-shows, a fee will be charged as the appointment was reserved for you. In urgent cases, we will certainly find a solution.
